If you want to welcome fall in a big way, you will want to get your own pumpkin – as soon as possible. However, if you’re new to the area, you might not know what to visit. The best NJ pumpkin patches in North Jersey

There are many things to explore, see, and do in North Jersey. Many patches were open since mid-September. For example, Wightman’s Farm in Morristown had its doors open on September 12. They offered the regular pumpkin patch, along with hayrides and mazes. They used to do corn sandbox, but the pandemic is making this shifty. However, you will need to call in advance in order to get your reservations. So, if you are moving with household movers NJ, you might want to add this to the checklist too.

There are farms that offer even more for you to do. Along with the patch and hayrides, Sussex County Strawberry Farm in Newton offers horse-drawn carriages and fresh cider, too. And even the name doesn’t make you think of it, they also offer pumpkins and apples too. They started the first week of October, so you can give them a visit at any point you want.

And if you and your family are fans of mazes, then it’s Stony Hill Farms in Chester you want to visit. Their pumpkin season runs from the end of September up to Halloween, and their mazes are open. They have The Maze Fun Park that you can visit for hayrides, and mazes including rope, fence as well as a 10-acre corn one.  They even do themes every year, and this year it’s the weather. Make sure you visit their website to book a visit, though.

Have some family fun in Central Jersey

There are many things you can do even when you used our moving and storage NJ in Central Jersey, too. For example, Princeton holds Terhune Orchards, an amazing farm open until November 1. Every weekend then hold pumpkin picking and other activities you’d expect at your regular NJ pumpkin patches. These Fall Family Weekends, however, do require you to purchase a ticket in advance.

If you like tasting things other than pumpkins – then visit Oasis Family Farm in Robbinsville, too. Their season started on September 26th and is going strong until November 1st. Here, you can pick your pumpkin, but you can also taste some sweet, sweet local honey. There are games to play and an ant colony and gem mine to explore. For your kids, there is a Fun Zone and beehive that they need to see.

Norz Hill Farm in Hillsborough will run even longer – from September 12th to November 7th. This means you can squeeze your visit into your Halloween events. Make sure you often check their website, though, because some of the activities have been postponed. However, you can still pick the best pumpkin around on the farm. There are also hayrides and farm animals which you can see – every day of the week. There is also a 5-acre maze that you can get lost in, which they change every season.

If your kids really enjoy the farm animals, then your next visit should be to Melicks Town Farm in Califon. This is often a favorite of the NJ pumpkin patches for many families around the state. There are even horse-drawn wagon rides on weekends that take you right into the pumpkin picking activities – right off the vine.

What can I do in South Jersey?

South Jersey is not without its own pumpkin-themed activities, too. Duffield’s Farm in Sewell began on September 12, but they do require you to get your tickets in advance due to the pandemic. Here you will also have hayrides where you can pick your pumpkins, and you can also do all sorts of fall activities, like a corn maze. What sets apart Duffield’s Farm from the others is their Barn Bounce and Barnyard Express, which you need to experience for yourself.

Then there is Sahl’s Father Son Farm in Galloway. You can visit it from Thursday to Saturday to pick your pumpkin or explore their corn maze. You can buy tickets online – and there is even a discount if you do it that way. There is the regular fair of things to do here – pumpkin picking, hayrides, corn maze, animals for your kids to see and learn about – and much, much more. However, the farm doesn’t work Sunday through Wednesday, so plan your visit around these days.

Finally, there is the Johnson’s Locust Hall Farm in Jobstown. Here, you can of course pick your pumpkins and explore the corn maze, but you also get to feed the animals they have. They also have a new addition this season – the Park & Pick. Here, you can get timed entry tickets and drive right to their field. However, you will need to reserve your ticket online. Hayrides, sadly, are not available this season. But Johnson’s is still one of the best NJ pumpkin patches you can find around.
